About the Show

The Neo-Futurists—masters of creating funny, personal, abstract, political, and poignant plays—return to Woolly with their ever-changing attempt to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes. With audiences deciding on the random order of those plays, every performance is a unique experience not to be missed.

“LEAVES YOU BREATHLESS WITH THE TROUPE'S AUDACITY AND WIT. The cast members are intuitively topical, so they bring up current events fluently, puckishly and irreverently. They thrive on audience engagement. As the Neos say, if you've seen the show once, you've seen it once.”
Washington Post

IT'S QUICK, IT'S DIRTY, IT'S POLITICAL AT TIMES AND FUNNY AT OTHERS. It's real, silly, inspiring, and unique and different every night — but it is certain to be entertaining. A nice treat for the holidays.”
CurtainUp.com

“Consider joining The Neo-Futurists on board this grinning, spinning carousel of cognitive dissonance, which they’re constructing with nervy aplomb once again, at Woolly Mammoth. BIZARRE, GIGGLE-INDUCING SEGMENTS OF ENSEMBLE TOMFOOLERY. THE FUN IS IN THE RAPID-FIRE CREATION OF LIVE ART.
DC Theatre Scene

“The Neo-Futurists are INNOVATIVE, EDGY, AND INTERACTIVE – a perfect fit for a theater that can be described by all of these adjectives.”
Washington Life

Who's Who

neosThe Neo-Futurists, creators of over 60 original, full-length productions, are a collective of wildly productive writer/director/performers who create immediate, non-illusory, interactive and head slappingly affordable performances. From their theater above a Chicago funeral home, they have toured from San Francisco to Romania and won the coveted Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival. Their acclaimed play 43 Plays for 43 Presidents was performed for President Jimmy Carter (he liked it!).
